And so the course begins! Our first task with 3Ds Max was to create some props following a tutorial. We created a set of table, chairs and mugs to get to know the software.

I had already taken some classes on 3Ds Max basics before, so It wasn't a big of a challenge, however, I think It's been more than a year that I didn't even open Max to do anything! I used to work with Blender because the company I worked for couldn't afford a Max licence. I know It is going to take some time for me to get used to it again, and I'm pretty much a beginner with very, very basic knowledge so here we go!

The task for the following class was a war hammer, and I learned a couple of new things about modelling specifically for games. I used to think that every single element should be connected as the final piece would be originated from one single polygon, but in fact It is okay to attach elements to reduce the amount of final polygons.

And for the third week, we were given the task to model a treasure chest and make our first unwrap. I'm still struggling with the unwrapping because I'm too perfectionist and It's a little difficult to make it perfect.

And finally, for the last lecture we had a speed modelling exercise in which we had to choose a reference and try to figure it out the best way to model it in 30 minutes.

It took me all the 30 minutes to do the blade itself, and I decided to finish the piece at home later, which took me another hour to create the handle and all the details.
